Complete sentence structure
The basic elements of a complete English sentence are subjects (usually nouns) and verbs. Sometimes we also need other elements, which are adjectives and adverbs. Mastering the four elements will greatly help you understand English sentences.
For example,
- They smoke. [S+V]
- They drink (alcohol). [S+V]
- They have a dog. [S+V+N]
- They are happy. [S+Be+Adj]
- They live in Canada. [S+V+Adv]

You will also benefit more if you use a dictionary to help you. Finally, don't forget to use English in daily life so all the grammar/vocabulary can be stored in your mind easier. While using this language, you are also learning from others and observing when is the appropriate context for different usages.
